Clean water is not the only valuable resource produced by GAT systems. By-products including sterile nitrate solids can be used as high quality organic fertilizer or as a fuel for coal burning type generators.
A ten-million gallon per day GAT system will produce approximately 800 tons of dried sludge per year. This dried sludge has a talcum powder consistency and is pathogen free. When used as an organic soil conditioner it will fertilize soil for years and not wash out to contaminate aquifers as do liquid nitrates. When used as a fuel for power generation, 800 tons of dried sludge will produce approximately $7,000,000.00 in electricity (2011 averages).
